Sports Injury Treatment
in Rotherham

Pulled something, tweaked something, or carrying a niggle that will not clear? I'm Harry, a Level 4 qualified sports massage therapist in Treeton, Rotherham. We treat the soft tissue side of sports injuries and build you a proper plan for getting back to training, not just a rub and a hope.

How It Works

Treat the Tissue.
Plan the Comeback.

An injured muscle rarely exists on its own. Around every strain there is tissue working overtime to compensate, and that is usually what keeps you in pain long after the original damage has settled. Every injury session starts with an assessment: how it happened, how you move now, and what your sport needs from your body.

From there we work the soft tissue that needs it, using deep tissue techniques, myofascial release, and trigger point work. And we are honest about scope: we are not physios, and if what we find needs a GP, a scan, or physio-led rehab, we tell you at the assessment, not after six sessions.

Training hard but not injured? You want sports massage in Rotherham. Desk-built tension rather than a sports injury? That's the deep tissue massage page.

The Bit Nobody Else Offers

Your Own Personalised
Rehab Plan

Most massage appointments end at the door. Ours can end with a plan. Alongside hands-on treatment, we offer a personalised rehab plan: you complete a detailed assessment covering your injury, training, and goals, and we build you a structured, phased programme delivered as a branded PDF.

Week by week it tells you what to do, what to avoid, and what milestone means you are ready for the next phase, so "rest it and see" becomes an actual plan for getting back to your sport. Safety is built in: if your assessment raises anything that needs a doctor before rehab, the plan stops and tells you exactly that.

No other massage therapist in Rotherham offers this. It is the difference between being treated and being coached back to fitness.

Common Injuries

What Comes Through the Door

Hamstring and calf strains from running and Sunday league. Shoulder and rotator cuff trouble from the gym. Tennis elbow that flares every time you grip something. Hips locked up from lifting. Backs that went mid-deadlift and never quite came back. If it is muscle, fascia, or the tension around a joint, it is our territory.

Injury work uses the same sessions as everything else: 30 minutes at £30 for a single area, up to the 90-minute full body reset at £65. For a first injury visit we recommend the 60-minute session at £50 so there is time to assess properly before we treat.

Common Questions

Injury Treatment: FAQ

Straight answers about injuries, recovery, and when massage is and is not the right call.

Depends what the pain is doing. Sharp pain that changes how you move, or pain that gets worse session on session, is your body telling you to stop loading it the same way. A dull ache that eases as you warm up is usually more manageable. In your first session we assess what you can keep doing safely, because for most injuries the answer is modify, not stop everything.
For most muscle strains, wait 72 hours or so for the acute phase to settle before hands-on work. Working a fresh tear too early makes it worse. If you message us when it happens, we will tell you honestly whether to book now or give it a few days.
We are sports massage therapists, not physios or doctors, so we do not hand out medical diagnoses. What we do is assess how you move, form a working impression of what is going on, treat the soft tissue side, and tell you straight when something needs a GP, physio, or scan instead. No guesswork dressed up as certainty.
You fill in a detailed assessment covering your injury, training history, and goals. We use that to build you a structured, phased rehab plan, delivered as a PDF: what to do each week, what to avoid, and clear milestones for getting back to sport. It picks up where the treatment table leaves off, and nobody else around Rotherham offers anything like it.
They do different jobs and often work best together. Physio leads on diagnosis and structured rehab of complex injuries. Our job is the soft tissue side: releasing the tight, overloaded muscle around an injury, keeping the rest of you moving while you recover, and progressive rehab guidance for straightforward cases. If your injury needs a physio first, we will say so.
Hamstring and calf strains from running and football, rotator cuff and shoulder problems from the gym, tennis elbow, tight hips from lifting, and the classic pulled back that will not let go. If you are not sure your problem fits, message us before booking and we will give you an honest answer.
